Health Fund Dentist
in North Sydney

Bupa, Medibank, NIB & Westfund Preferred Provider

North Sydney Dentistry is a Bupa Members First Platinum, Medibank Members’ Choice, NIB First Choice and Westfund Provider of Choice dental practice. If you are a member of one of these funds with extras cover, you can claim the maximum available benefits directly on the spot, which helps reduce your out-of-pocket costs.

We also accept all other major health funds. With HICAPS in the practice, your claim is processed at the time of your appointment, so you only pay the gap – there is no need to lodge the claim yourself.

New patients with eligible health fund cover can have a No Gap check-up and clean. Without private health insurance, the same comprehensive first visit is $219.

Bupa Members First Platinum dentist in North Sydney

North Sydney Dentistry is a Bupa Members First Platinum provider. If you hold eligible Bupa extras cover, Members First Platinum can mean set prices or higher benefits on many general dental services, so you may pay less out of pocket.

Your exact benefit depends on your level of cover and how much of your annual limit is left. Bring your Bupa card and we claim on the spot through HICAPS, so you only pay any gap.

Medibank Members’ Choice dentist in North Sydney

North Sydney Dentistry is part of Medibank’s Members’ Choice network. Eligible Medibank members with extras cover may receive higher benefits on some dental services when they visit a Members’ Choice dentist.

We process your claim through HICAPS at the end of your appointment, so you can see what Medibank pays and what is left to pay.

NIB First Choice dentist in North Sydney

As an NIB First Choice provider, North Sydney Dentistry offers eligible NIB members set fees on some general dental services. Depending on your extras cover, that can mean no gap on a routine check-up and clean.

Bring your NIB card and we will claim on the spot through HICAPS.

Westfund Provider of Choice in North Sydney

North Sydney Dentistry is a Westfund Provider of Choice. Eligible Westfund members may receive higher benefits, or pay no gap, on some general dental services, depending on their extras cover.

As with every fund, we claim through HICAPS on the day.

Other health funds

You can claim with any Australian health fund at North Sydney Dentistry, including HCF, ahm, Australian Unity, CBHS, Defence Health, Teachers Health and HBF. HICAPS lets us claim your extras benefit on the spot, so you pay only the gap at the end of your visit.

Your rebate depends on your fund, your level of extras cover, waiting periods and how much of your annual limit is left. If you are not sure what you are covered for, call your fund with the item numbers on your treatment plan before you book.

Check-up and clean with your health fund

A new patient check-up and clean at North Sydney Dentistry is $219, or No Gap for eligible members of participating health funds. It includes a dental examination and explanation of findings, a full mouth OPG x-ray, photographs, a dental clean and mineral treatment, and removal of stains, plaque and tartar.

Many extras policies cover two check-ups and cleans a year, and some pay them in full. If your fund pays the whole fee for a preventive visit, there is no gap to pay on the day.

Book a check-up online or call (02) 8090 1108.

Health fund FAQs

Do you accept my health fund?

Yes. North Sydney Dentistry accepts all Australian health funds and claims on the spot through HICAPS. We are also a Bupa Members First Platinum, Medibank Members’ Choice, NIB First Choice and Westfund Provider of Choice provider.

Can I claim on the day?

Yes. Bring your health fund card and we will process your claim through HICAPS before you leave, so you only pay the gap.

What does No Gap mean?

No Gap means your fund pays the full fee for an eligible service, so you have nothing extra to pay. Whether a visit is No Gap depends on your fund, your level of extras cover and your remaining annual limit.

Can I use my extras for veneers, Invisalign or implants?

Some extras policies include major dental or orthodontic benefits, usually with longer waiting periods and annual limits. Ask your fund what you are covered for, and we can give you item numbers from your treatment plan. Interest-free payment plans are also available, subject to approval.

Do I need a referral to use my health fund?

No. You can book directly with us and claim through HICAPS at your appointment.

Making the Most of Your Extras Cover

Bring your health fund card to your appointment so we can process your claim through HICAPS on the day. Payment or claim must be made on the day of your appointment.

Check your annual limits and waiting periods. Extras cover usually resets each calendar or membership year, and some treatments have waiting periods. Your fund can confirm what you have left to claim.

Ask for a written quote. For larger treatments we provide a quote with item numbers, so you can check your expected rebate with your fund before you start. Quotes are valid for 6 months.

Spread the cost. If there is a gap to pay on larger treatments, interest-free payment plans are available from $30 a week (subject to approval). See our price list for typical treatment costs.

To book, call (02) 8090 1108 and mention your health fund – we’re at Suite 21, 14 Edgeworth David Avenue, three minutes’ walk from North Sydney Station.
